    Frontier Scientific is undergoing a large-scale business transformation which is dependent on strategic technology transitions in every area of the company. Much of Frontier’s experienced engineers are now focused on the new strategy, which includes a dedicated focus towards new technologies and platforms. However, Frontier’s legacy platform requires dedicated engineering support and technical maintenance. These technical issues are registered via an established Feature Request (FRQ) protocol. For this reason, Frontier IT has established a job position dedicated to servicing our business (and its users) with operational continuity by providing technical engineering support. In addition, this FRQ/Responsive Engineer will also manage the list of FRQs & Technical Incident Requests priority, sequencing, and development.

    Job Duties to include:

    • Management of FRQ/Responsive List & Development Portfolio – including FRQ registration, evaluation, response to registration, analysis, proposition, prioritization & sequencing, resourcing, and management of software development projects.

    • Development & Engineering– for solutions that resolve requests and improve operational continuity, and software engineering services to customers. Conduct Use-Case (UX) & Functional Prototyping

    • Elicitation of Business, Customer, and User Requirements – analysis of business requests, technical improvements, evaluation of solution cases, cost & pricing estimates, and project status visibility & reporting

    • Management of Testing & Deployment – of the solutions and coordination of staged UAT testing with users. Manage deployment and rollbacks for Production environment.

    • Production Support & Maintenance – of all production-deployed solutions that satisfy FRQ requests & Responsive incident management of technical issues

    • Resolves technical issues – with customer-facing SaaS production systems applying code optimization, database modifications, stored procedures, version control, maintenance, and stabilization of legacy systems.

    • Develops documentation and drawings – to describe business functional & technical requirements including process flows, ERDs, user interface designs, and API documentation

      Required Experience & Technical Background:

    • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

    • A year+ experience with Object Oriented Programming

    • A year+ experience with .NET framework using C# with Visual Studio

    • A year+ experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2008/2012/2014), including design and implementation of tables, views, triggers, and stored procedures

    • Exposure and familiarity to n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer), service-oriented architectures (SOA), and distributed processing.

    • Experience with MVC frameworks, Web API (REST & SOAP)

    • Experience with XML and JSON and related technologies

    • Experience with formal version control(Git, SVN, SourceSafe, etc.)

    • Experience with jQuery, javascript and javascript libraries such as Angular and Knockout is a plus

    • Agile/Scrum project experience is a plus

    • Chemistry or cheminformatics experience is a plus
